Caroline Forbes has earned herself the nickname of "Barbie" due to her appearance. Her hair is a natural light blonde color that cascades a little below her shoulders. It is naturally wavy and Caroline usually may curl it slightly or straighten it completely depending on the day. She has side bangs that are usually brushed to the right side of her face and her eyes are a sea blue color. Caroline is taller than most girls her age, towering above them at 5'8 and weighing around 125 lbs. She also has a tattoo of a star on her ankle. But her most distinctive feature is her bright smile that lights up her whole face and is basically contagious.

The way Caroline dresses and carries herself has changed a lot. When she was human she usually wore more girlish clothing with a lot of color and cute dresses and skirts. But lately she has been dressing more mature, wearing some darker and more plain outfits. Once in a while she may wear a cute dress. Caroline carries herself with confidence, trying to appear as though she has everything under control in her life. Hiding insecurities that use to be much stronger, and still exist a little bit inside.

Caroline is no longer the human girl she once was. Ever since that day in the hospital when suffocated by Katherine Pierce and becoming a vampire, she began to develop as a person. She is quite friendly and charismatic when it comes to being at school and socializing with humans, keeping up with her old life. A kind of light just shines from Caroline's bright personality as she always tries to look at the glass half full. After all, someone needs to keep holding on to hope with everything bad that happens, and that person is Caroline. She believes in the good, that it will win out in the end. Caroline is also a caring person, always wanting to do whatever she can to help her friends.

Loyalty is a big thing with this girl. Once you have her on your side you have her for eternity. Caroline would do just about anything to protect those she loves and cares for. Risking her life to keep her loved ones safe, and doing whatever it takes despite the consequences. To her friendship is important and no matter what happens she does her best to remain as a loyal friend. Although when it comes to secrets that still isn't much of a strong point as everything usually comes out eventually. Mainly due to Caroline's horrible lying ability. She never was very good at lying and although it is slightly better, it still isn't very convincing.

Of course some of her old negative human traits were heightened during the transition. Jealousy, for example is a huge one. Although she usually is okay with hiding it, if something happens to really arise her jealousy she tends to have her snarky side come out. Caroline is still slightly insecure also, although it isn't as bad as it once was, but the thoughts are still there at times. When it comes to planning things though, neurotic is the word to describe her. She is a huge perfectionist when it comes to events and every single detail has to be in place. Creating a sort of bossy attitude when put in charge of an event as well. Even when just living life she is neurotic and constantly worrying about everyone's well being. Lastly despite her good intentions she tends to be very judgmental of people (even her friends) and blunt about what she thinks. She is just a naturally honest person, and even to her friends she isn't afraid to just come out with what she has to say, unless she knows it is something that would really hurt them. Then some of that hesitance may show.

Caroline was born in Mystic Falls on September 21st, 1992. She grew up in Mystic Falls her whole life and were best friends with two girls since childhood, Elena and Bonnie. The two girls were like sisters that she never had and always wanted. She was an only child. While growing up her mother was always working as sheriff of the town, leaving Caroline with her father for the most part. Creating a sort of favorism in the young blonde towards her dad. Which is why it hurt her so much when he left for another man. She wondered if she had done anything wrong and hated the thought of blaming herself. She couldn't handle the thought that she could be a reason that he left so she placed all the blame on her mom for not being able to hold unto him. For the next years the two would have a rocky time together. Caroline would feel like her mom didn't care and would give her constant attitude like any teenage girl. Her human life was perfect in her eyes, she was popular, cheer captain, and loved life. Then came the Salvatore brothers.

First Stefan had caught her eye but of course he chose Elena over her. As usual everyone always chose Elena and she was left as second best. Then came Damon Salvatore. She was naive and believed it was love. Damon used her, fed on her, and compelled her to do his dirty business for him. He would abuse her and make her feel like crap about herself. And even though she knew he was dangerous and she should stay away she kept running back to him because she was convinced she loved him, or at least Caroline told herself that as there was no other rational explanation. Then Matt happened. He was Elena's ex-boyfriend and he was there for Caroline when she was insecure and vulnerable. He helped her build back her confidence and things seemed almost normal again. Even the whole competition she had invented with Elena in her mind was diminishing, especially after she won the title of Miss Mystic Falls. Everything seemed perfect until the car accident on the night of the Founder's Day Parade. She ended up in the hospital and had to be healed with vampire blood in order to survive. The next night Katherine Pierce came and killed her while she still had the vampire blood in her system, starting her new life in this brave new world.

Being a vampire had a lot of ups and downs. Her first few days of transition was difficult, especially after she lost control killing her first person, and the first kill is something hard to forget. Not to mention dealing with a heightened version of herself, with all the qualities that she hated, the only reason that Caroline had been able to get through it was Stefan. He saved her life and taught her all that was needed to know. And when things seemed to brighten up this whole Klaus issue arose as he came to town for the sacrifice. But even after the sacrifice was done with he had returned to town and basically was messing up everything!

Klaus had turned Caroline's boyfriend into a hybrid, creating some weird sire bond that Tyler would have to do whatever Klaus tells him to. Luckily the sire bond managed to be broken after many nights, but it wasn't enough as Tyler decided to free all of his other hybrids and try to kill him. Revenge that Caroline found as a crazy plan and couldn't end well for anyone, and it didn't. Instead all twelve hybrids were killed and as revenge against Tyler, Klaus killed Carol Lockwood.

Tensions are rising as it is discovered that a cure for vampirism exists. Although Caroline does not want it herself, liking the way she is now compared to that human girl she once was, she is still doing whatever she can to find it in order to help Elena become human again. Meanwhile, due to Carol's recent death she wants to be there to support Tyler. But one thing she would never admit is that attraction she has to Klaus buried deep inside. She denies it to everyone and especially to herself. But right now, after everything Klaus has done, Caroline convinced herself that he doesn't deserve forgiveness for what he has done.

Caroline stared into the mirror at herself trying to keep it all together. She couldn’t cry, but yet she felt like she needed it. Carol Lockwood and her weren’t even that close, and yet it stung because the blonde knew that Tyler was hurting. That the pain of losing a parent was unreal, it does something to a person. Changes their outlook and creates despair. She knew, most of them knew actually. Elena had lost both her parents, Matt’s parents basically abandoned him along with Bonnie’s mom, and Caroline’s own father had actually chosen death over becoming the one thing he hated most. And although he reassured Care that he loved her, even as a vampire, it still stung. Thing was that Tyler wouldn’t even talk to her about it. He didn’t want to confide in her and although she understood the whole concept of giving someone space. That he was grieving and needed to do it alone, it still kind of got her frustrated with the whole thing. Caroline wanted to be there for him, she wanted to offer a shoulder to cry on and provide the comfort he may need. But right now she would have to give it time, wait until he was ready to open up. And when he was she would be there to attempt to take away the pain that it killed her to see him in.

After blinking a couple of times she glanced sideways towards the clock, noticing she should probably head out soon. Her hands gently smoothened out her dress as she pulled on a jacket and walked downstairs. The house was quiet, empty. Not that it was really anything new. Her mother was sheriff, the woman had responsibilities and duties to perform that the town relied on. It was for their greater good and was selfish of Caroline to even be slightly upset about that. Just right now would’ve been a nice time to have her home. Just to hug her and let her know how much Caroline loved her. Without wasting another thought on it she walked outside to her car and began to drive to the school.

Turning on the radio and raising the music volume in attempts to try and put her mind at ease didn’t work. Caroline wasn’t a huge fan of funerals or memorials, but who was? The thing was, that it was too much sadness and pain in one place for her to handle. The looks of despair and broken hearts hanging on the faces of those she herself cares for. Not to mention the memories brought back from her own father’s wake. But she couldn’t just not go. In fact Caroline wanted to go, show bravery and try to keep up the hope that may be lost. Keep Tyler from blaming himself. And the reason why he may blame himself caused Caroline’s grip to tighten slightly on the steering wheel. Klaus.

And to think that the blonde even slightly felt sorry for him! That she tried to understand Klaus and even sort of agreed with Stefan that everyone did horrible things and why does it make him worse than anyone else. She felt like an idiot for even having those thoughts, and although it wasn’t exactly proven yet that Klaus was behind her death, who else could be? No one else wanted Carol dead and when was the last time someone drowned in a fountain. Despite how drunk someone could get, that still seemed quite unrealistic.

Finally she reached the school and sat in the cars for a few more moments before getting out. Walking slowly towards the building as she could feel the pain hovering in the air, seeping into anyone within the radius of the school. The blonde waited outside where she said she would meet with everyone else and stood in silence. Deep in thought about everything that went on the past few weeks and how their lives even got so messed up in the first place.
