Damon had slept late. It was almost noon, and he was only just crawling out of bed, lamenting at how empty it felt, now that he had experienced having a certain beauty beside him in it. It had been weeks since Elena had been with him here, and he felt the agony of it every day. He had never wanted anything so bad in all of his one hundred and seventy four years, and as usual, life and horrendous luck had had to come along and throw a spanner in the works. So she was sired to him, but he was now thoroughly over the part where everyone wanted him to stay away from her. She had told him that she loved him, and would feel that way whether she was a vampire or not, and that was good enough for him. For now.
Still, there was no need to flaunt it in everyone's faces, not when things were so tense thanks to this stupid hunt for a cure. Damon thought it was a waste of time, anyway. Why would anyone want to be human? He was strong, powerful, more of a man than he could ever be with a beating heart. Humanity was a weakness, and chasing after it boggled his mind completely. Besides, he didn't want Elena to become human again. As soon as she took the cure, she wouldn't be sired to him any more, and would declare that she didn't know what she had been thinking, and run back into the waiting arms of Captain Dull, aka Stefan. It was the last thing Damon wanted. For the first time in his life, he had gotten the girl. Naturally, something was bound to go wrong.
Running a hand through his hair, he padded barefoot to the bathroom, and turned on the shower, peeling off his clothes and stepping inside to shut out the world. His head was a mess, and mornings were the worst time for it, since he had no choice but to think for a while. The hot water should have burned his skin, but it merely trickled down his back, not washing a single worry away, like it was supposed to. He stayed there for another five minutes before giving up. Wrapping a towel tightly around his waist, he went back to his bedroom, heading for the dresser to find clean clothes for the day, leaving dark, wet footprints across the floor where he walked.

It was driving her insane. How everyone thought suddenly they knew what was best for her was beyond stupid. How long had her parents been dead now? and what about Jenna? If she knew how to do anything right it was take care of herself and she didn't need anyone watching over her shoulder telling her what to do. Regardless of whether or not she was sired to him now, being sired didn't make her have feelings for Damon. Tyler had been sired to Klaus and hated him with everything he had. The emotions were real. Elena knew how she had felt before, it just all seemed a little more clear now was all.
It was like every piece of her was missing in the last few weeks since he had been away. They had warned them both, their friends. While Elena heard that he was controlling her, that she was not capable of feeling what she did and doing as she wanted; Damon, they wanted to stay away because he was ruthless, and selfish. They knew it wasn't beneath him to use the sire bond to his benefit. He had been in love with her for so long and now he could control it, they didn't think he cared how she really felt. They didn't know him, like she did. She had seen the parts of him that loved her, she had seen everything they hadn't, the things he could be. She trusted him, even with the opportunity for that much control over her.
More then enough time had passed, nothing was changing. It was upsetting thinking that he had even agreed to it, to stay away, to try and keep his distance. Why would he do that to her? Whatever it was, she was more then over it and as she shut the door to the Salvatore home behind her she moved quietly through the house to find him without making a sound til she found him in his room and leaned herself against the frame of the door.
I came over because I missed you and wanted to see you, but this she nodded towards his towel wrapped figure, a mischievous grin sneaking across her face this is an added bonus. She hoped that he would take the bait and ignore the fact she was there against everyone's wishes. If she never mentioned it, maybe he wouldn't either and they could just enjoy their time together for once while no one else was around before they were found out again and scolded.

She was trying to be stealthy, but as a new vampire, Elena still had a lot to learn about.... everything. He heard her soft footsteps coming down the hall to his door, but kept his back to it so she wouldn't see the smirk on his face. What was she doing here? Hadn't they agreed that this wasn't right at the moment? That they should take the advice of their friends - well, her friends - and stay away from each other. His smirk grew bigger as he realized that she was more like him than either of them had ever realized. It made him adore her that little bit more, and it also terrified him. Damon was a monster, on some level, he had come to terms with that, but he did not want that for Elena. She was too good, too pure to succumb to the levels Damon dwelled on on a daily basis.
She leaned against the doorway, and he could feel her eyes on his back as she spoke. Straightening his face, he rose an eyebrow as he turned to face her. "Once upon a time, you would have covered your eyes," he reminded her, an arrogant edge to his tone as he recalled the many times she had caught him in a similar state and been highly embarrassed. Not now. Now she was confidence personified. Now that she had him. Now that she wasn't bound by human fears and worries. Now that she could admit her true feelings. And Damon so wanted to believe that they were true. More than he had ever wanted anything before in his life. The worry that it was all temporary made him feel sick to the core.
He crossed to her, pressing a lingering kiss to her cheek and glancing into those beautiful dark eyes. "So you missed me, huh?" he murmured, keeping his body a safe distance from hers so he didn't make her clothes wet. And also, so he didn't make other things happen. There'd be no going back from that. He took her hand and led her slowly over to his bed. "You have no idea how hard it is to stay away from you." A frown found his face as he worked to keep his emotions in check. Just having her here was enough to make him insane with the need to be close to her, but he had to fight it. At least for a little while. "Make yourself comfortable while I get dressed," he told her, trying carefully to keep his words from sounding like an order. He left her to sit on his bed while he continued to rummage through his wardrobe for a clean shirt and pants. A desperate bid to distract himself from her presence.

"That was a lifetime ago." Figuratively speaking. It had been her lifetime ago. So many things had changed since she was that person, so much about her life, and everything about her. Elena knew there were a lot of things she would have never done before that she found herself marking off a silent list in her head since becoming a vampire. None of them so far though were life changing things, just personality small personality quirks. Things like this exact instance that Damon was speaking of.
Her eyes watched him cross the room room towards her as she stood there still. He was everything she wanted, and the more time they spent together, she was unsure of why it took her so long to figure it out. Stephan was nothing but amazing to her, but it just wasn't the same, it didn't compare somehow. Her eyes closed as he leaned in dodging for a kiss on the cheek instead of her lips, a scowl forming on her face. "That was all I get really? It was a tease. Of course she had missed him , and here she had gone against every person she had on her side to come and see him, and he kissed her on the cheek.
Letting him take her hand, Elena followed him and sat herself down on the bed as he finished rummaging through his drawers to find clothes to wear. Her arms pushed back behind her body as she leaned back on them and tilted her head to the side. "So what are you getting yourself into today? Anything I am allowed to be apart of?" It was a strange question, asking if she was allowed to go with, to do whatever it was he had planned, but he had been following orders just as she had. Depending on the day, he may tell her she had to hide out so they weren't seen together. On the other hand, in regular Damon fashion he could also say what the hell, and drag her along. Everyone was so concerned with her, what they thought was best for her, including him. Instead they should be concerning themselves with their own lives, or at least what she wanted.

Damon couldn't help but smile a little at her sulky response to his kiss on the cheek move. So she didn't like it. He liked that she didn't like it. He liked that she wanted more from him. Elena really didn't have any idea how long he had wanted more from her. How long she had made him wait for it, made him suffer, thinking it would never come to him. It would do her good to have to linger around for a while, too. She could have a taste of her own medicine. Not too much of a taste though, the energy was practically buzzing from her as she sat there on his bed. On his bed. Not Stefan's. Not anyone else's. His. Damon's. Hallelujah, praise the lord! Or not. Whatever. But he could have danced with happiness just at that thought alone.
Pulling on a pair of clean jeans, he tugged a black shirt off of a hanger, slipping his arms in as turned to face her. "I have some excellent plans for the day, and funnily enough," fast as lightning he was in front of her, shirt left open as his eyes burned into hers, "they all involve you." He was on top of her in half a second, pinning her on her back, lips lingering above hers, taunting, inviting. How could he possibly expect to deny her when they had hardly had a chance to be together properly? It was what she wanted. It was what he wanted. Who was he to ignore it, or try to be the better person and behave himself.
Damon hardly ever behaved himself. The only two people in the world who could influence him to be good at times were his brother, and the girl pressed against his body. And she obviously didn't want him to behave any more. Not when it came to this kind of thing. His face buried in her hair as he brought his lips to her neck, pressing a line of gentle kisses to her cool skin. He missed the warmth that used to be there, but not enough to want her to be human again. Not enough to want to risk losing her. He stopped at her ear. "What are you really doing here, Elena?" he whispered, running a finger over her mouth as he brought his face back to hers, still refusing to kiss her properly. "Is this why?" his finger trailed from her lips, along her neck, across her shoulder. "Or did you just want to talk?" He smirked, enjoying taunting her all too much.

Just about given in to the idea he was really doing his best to abide by the rules, even if she had showed up, she was only a small bit surprised when he ended up on top of her so quickly. He was after all Damon. It would have been much more unexpected for him to ignore her suggestive comments then to throw all the warnings out the door and do as they pleased. A smile teased her lips as she looked at him, feeling the coolness of his finger trailing across her lips ever so lightly.
Her eyes closed ever so slowly as he moved down her neck, leaving trails of cold and fire as they left. He wasn't exactly subtle or coy, the enjoyment he found in making her wait was found easily when he stopped near Elena's ear and asked what her real purpose had been for coming to find him at the old Salvatore homestead. Biting her lip for a moment she wasn't really sure of anything except what was about to happen as she pushed him off of her throwing his own body against the bed with a laugh. . . . . . . . . . "That, was not what I had in mind originally when I came over." Elena confessed. It was a much added bonus, much needed for that matter. Every part of her had missed him, it had been far too long since she had been near him, with him. Leaning over him she pushed her hair back out of her face as she leaned into him pressing her lips to his once again and pulled back with a small smile, her hand pressed against his chest. "Now about those other plans?"

It didn't take long, or much teasing, for Elena to give in, flipping him onto his back with a giggle that made him grin contentedly as he allowed her to take control. Feeling the power within her as she easily shoved him was different. Refreshing. Damon liked it very much. He was so used to her being fragile, human, it was a joy to not have to be careful around her, feeling like he might break her if we didn't hold back. Now she was his equal. Well, not quite, he did have a few centuries over her, but she was strong enough to match him at their current game, and Damon intended to revel in it completely.

He wasn't sure how much time had passed, but a chuckle left his lips as Elena told him that wasn't what she had had in mind when she came over today. "Liar," he accused, playfully. "You wanted me so bad you just couldn't keep away. Admit it. Have you seen me?" He gestured arrogantly to his toned physique, lips tilting in a lop-sided smirk. "I really don't blame you." She leaned in to kiss him, and he returned the gesture, thinking that his heart might have lurched at that point if it were still able to beat. She would have played havoc with it. Instead of having his dead heart skip a beat, Damon settled for taking her hand in his, fingers brushing tenderly with hers as he watched her beautiful face.
"To be perfectly honest, I had no plans when I woke up," he admitted, unable to lie to her while she was so close, while he lay looking into those dark, dark eyes. "But nooowww...." Sitting up, he reached for his shirt again, pulling it on and checking the alarm clock at the side of his bed. "I think we should make the most of this glorious day, and get out of here." He wiggles his brows at Elena. "Let's go somewhere fun. Out of town. Anywhere. We might as well make the most of it, if we're breaking all the rules." He chewed on his lip, trying to think of somewhere fun he could take her. There were so many options. All they had to do was get in his car and drive. There was nothing more exciting than winging it.

Have you seen me? "MMMmm yes I have." she laughed, her eyes going to his hand as she felt it brush across her own. Elena settled in beside him on the bed her head on his shoulder still sort of taking in everything that had just happened. She furrowed her brows as he told her instead of the fib he had told earlier that he had no plans, only to be abruptly moved as he jumped from the bed to redress. Pulling the pillow in closer she watched him again, not getting up so fast herself as Damon sort of spilled through the adventure he wanted to take. He was probably right after all, once anyone saw them, the enjoyment in their day was done for.
"Out of town huh? she repeated as she sat herself up on her arm, contemplating all the "out of town" places they could run away to. "How far are we talking? Day trip? Weekend trip?" Elena leaned into him again pressing her nose to his as she looked into his eyes and pursed her lips again. "Runaway forever maybe? Just pack up and go?"
It wasn't the first or only time she had thought about it. Elena also knew it wasn't the first time he had either. There had probably been a million occasions Damon begged her to do exactly that. Run away and just forget the rest of it. But realistically it was never that easy. Taking a small bag of your personal belongings didn't make your baggage any less in the reality of things. Maybe in time it would, but there was so much holding them back, it could never be that simple.

He could feel her eyes following him as he dressed, and he cheekily slowed down, taking his time to give her more of a show. Well, it wasn't every day you got to indulge the love of your life when you were destined to never be together and only had a small window to try and make it work. Okay, so maybe it wasn't that depressing. Or maybe it didn't have to be, there was always hope. And right now, Damon hoped Elena meant it when she admitted she liked what she saw. There was nothing like a good ego boost to improve a person's mood. Especially someone as egotistical as Damon. A few more compliments and she would have him wrapped around her little finger.
He sat back on the bed, and Elena pulled him to her, pressing her nose to his and questioning his intentions. "Mmm, don't tempt me!" he grumbled, leaning in for another kiss and running a hand through her hair. He had lost count of how many times he had thought about running away with her forever. He had imagined and dreamed about it for so long - hell, he had even asked her to do it a few times - that is seemed like something that was out of his reach entirely. But now it wasn't. And tempting him like that was something that would come around and bite her on the backside if she kept it up. What would she do if he said yes, let's run away forever? She had a life, and responsibilities, she couldn't just up and leave it all behind.
"Don't make me be the sensible one, please," he pleaded, frowning as he fought to tell her that no, they couldn't escape forever. "You know I would love nothing more than to take you away and never look back," he leaned his forehead against hers. "But it's not an option." She had no idea how hard it was for him to say that. Swallowing hard, he tried to look on the positive side. They could get away for a little while. "Do you have any plans for the next few days?" he asked her, not really caring about cancelling anything he had going on. "We could go somewhere for the day, orrrr...." he lifted the covers and peeked under at her with a naughty grin on his face. "We could call it a vacation and take a few days. Just you and me. No one to interfere. No dramas, no worries, no stress, no responsibilities. Just fun. Just us." He hoped he didn't have to sell it so much to her and that she would just say yes and that would be it. He couldn't imagine anything that would make him happier right then, than to have some real quality time with Elena. Damon was fed up of being told what to do.

"Talk about a role reversal.[" Elena teased. In any situation given you could probably bet that Damon wasn't the sensible one. He was ruled by emotion, what little he had sometimes. If he wanted something, whether it was out of love or anger, he wasn't the one you could expect to hold back. Piss him off, expect your neck snapped. It was pretty simple really. In some ways it made him predictable at times, and that was a comfort, but other times it made him anything but that. At least over time now she knew what to expect in almost any situation from him. Not that she always agreed but there weren't as many surprises for her to have to dodge and deal with.
He asked if she had any plans for the next few days and she had to ponder for a minute. Did school really count anymore? When you were dead, and eighteen forever, she didn't think it really did. She had eternity to make up for a few missed days, and the weekend was close so she wouldn't have to miss many at all. The biggest obstacle would be explaining to Caroline where she had run off to without insinuating anything that would suggest she was with Damon. "Do you have an alibi for my disappearance?
Even suggesting it seemed childish and she hated it was that way. Maybe she would just say screw it. Even if they knew who she was with, that didn't mean they knew where, and by the time they would even come close to figuring it out they could be home. If they looked at all. "You know what,"She paused, her eyes looking around the room and back to him again. "I don't even care anymore. What are they going to do?" That depending solely on if Bonnie got involved, without her there wasn't a whole lot they could do besides grovel or beg. That hadn't worked up to this point, so it wasn't going to change now. Especially with the weekend away from everything with Damon laid on the horizon. She needed it, THEY needed it, and she would fight for it. If they didn't understand, then they weren't the friends she thought they were in the first place. "My plans are just to be near you as much as possible so that next time I get grounded or spelled inside my own house, I have had a good fix to get me by."

Damon suppressed an eye roll at the mention of role reversal. He had had enough of that to last him a lifetime. It was boring. He didn't like playing at anything but being himself, and who could blame him? He was awesome. And he was about to tell her to hell with an alibi, she wasn't some naughty school girl with parents to answer to. Well, actually she was, with a brother to answer to instead, obviously, but who cared? She was a vampire now (for however long he had her like that). She didn't need to answer to anyone. It seemed she had come to the same conclusion before he could say anything, and Damon nodded in approval.
"Near to me as much as possible, huh?" he purred, pulling her up out of the bed and into his arms. "I think you'll get a decent fix, don't worry." His lips found hers, teeth grazing her bottom lip as eyes of ice burned into hers. If he allowed himself to get distracted again, they might not get anywhere. It was already lunch time, Stefan would be home soon enough and then their plans would be ruined. Or at the very least people would try and put a rain cloud over their heads over it. Damon wasn't about to let his own selfish desires spoil what could be an incredible break away with the girls he had dreamed about for so long. He had to have her to himself.
"Get dressed," he turned her around and gave her a shove in the direction of her clothes, making sure his hand landed on her backside. Smirking, he continued to get himself dressed, mind ticking over wondering where to take her. He would think of something. Hell, they could go to some abandoned run down village and sleep in a barn and it would be fun, so long as he got to be with Elena. Still, it would be nice to take her somewhere new. Somewhere worth seeing. Somewhere she would never forget. He needed to stamp a memory in her heart that she would never be able to get rid of, even when she was human again and went back to his brother. "We'll stop by your house for you to pack a few things, and then we are out of here." He grabbed a bag from under his bed and shoved a few spare items of clothing in there for himself, pulling his boots on and swinging the bag over his shoulder with his leather jacket. He turned to Elena. "Ready?"

Damon pulled her up out of the bed, away from the warmth of the covers, and kissed her. A disguise for his true intentions as he pushed Elena in the direction of her clothes instead afterwards, her feet dragging across the floor, turning her head with a pouty lip as she looked at him, never stopping the movement of her feet.
The clothes lay at the side of the bed, right where they had dropped them before. Hands ruffling through the contents Elena found her underwear pulling them on and snapping her bra into place. " You do realize, I am a vampire now. There isn't a whole lot I could need." She shrugged her shoulders. It wasn't that she didn't need anything, she could get her own clothes, makeup, her own things. It was more she didn't want to risk running into anyone who might already be there waiting, or show up before they headed out. " I could buy new things depending on where we go, " she said as she pulled her shirt back on over her head, looking at him as it came out the other side. "It could be fun." she smiled.
Dressed, she was indeed ready to go. Elena was ready to get away for a while and be far from all the things that had been trying to keep them apart. It seemed like ever since she had turned, things weren't in her favor, the universe hated her like this. As for how she felt, the jury was still out on that. "Yeah." Her eyes covered the room again making sure nothing was out of place, nothing would give away she had been there, and anything she had brought was with her as they made their way out . " Let's get out of here. "
